Brain dump...

Procrastination is a funny old thing

It’s not lazy and it's not unproductive - it's just life in slow motion...or something

My wonderful time at Disney came to an end last week, I am unemployed for this week and then next week I will start my next adventure in Music PR and small events for Urban Development, working with some great people and learning some valuable skills. It's nothing I can’t handle, 2 days a week. And for the rest of the 5 days of the week I'm looking for part time work in retail or admin just so I won’t kill myself every time I look at my depleting bank balance. I'm excited and this week in between while I have all this wonderful free time I will be sorting out my portfolio of work, doing some freelance bits online, working on Trapstar deadlines, having a wardrobe overhaul and also preparing for my weekend in Amsterdam...but I'm procrastinating a little today!

It’s nothing I can’t handle I just have to be in the right mind frame when approaching tasks, I do this for a living organising and planning; but when it comes to doing for myself I just can’t seem to figure out where to start!

The Weeknd - House Of Balloons

After being recommended this North American band, I've kinda been hooked on The Weeknd. The freely downloadable debut mix tape House of Balloons is a regular on my personal music player.
When I first heard Wicked Game, I couldn't help but wonder if the singer was channeling Charlie Sheen. But after having this on constantly in the background at work, I hear Justin Timberlake Harmonies and real essence of Drakes dark, emotional lyrics...but at 20 years old it makes you wonder what is going on in kids heads these day. The mixtape is Laced with RnB tones (win) and while some songs are easy listening and some you have to take with a shot or 2 of rum...enjoy ..XO

Tracklist:
1. High For This
2. What You Need
3. House Of Balloons – Glass Table Girls
4. The Morning
5. Wicked Games
6. The Party & The After Party
7. Coming Down
8. Loft Music
9. The Knowing

Dear Aunty Mistry

I find myself being questioned for answer by my girlfriends all the time about relationships like I’m some guru. I’m not. I have had 1 great loving relationship that unfortunately ended in heart ache, 2 twisted relationships that kinda faded into the past, dated a string of guys who I didn't sleep with and slept with a few guys that I didn't date. I don’t think I’m an expert of relationships but I am becoming an expert at knowing myself and knowing what I want and what I don’t like and to avoid those situations. I admit that I was a big preacher and non practicer but as I get older and wiser I find myself just turning away from situations that I used to run into - with scissors! Ha

Having a strong female and family base with classic morals and values has moulded me into the woman I am today. I am the way I am with men, not because I've been hurt and lied to, I am the way I am because I have been loved and know what it is to be cared for. I have some great memories of some fun situations, they didn't work out but I chose not to remember the bad, rather just focus on the good. This post goes out to girls, guys, the next generation, those who are looking for love in the wrong places and those who are a bit unsure.

So it was funny when I was talking to one of my close male friends about relationships. He couldn't understand why girls wanted to jump into relationships so fast, Why they got clingy after 1 date and wanted it all or nothing now? 1 or 2 dates didn't give him enough background information to know if this girl was potential girlfriend material... I told him every girl was different; don’t paint them all with the same brush. My advice to him was to communicate his feelings, be up front and tell her the deal. I have found in the past with some older men I dated that because they were honest about the situation before we got into anything, time spent with them was so enjoyable and fun because I didn't spend hours psycho-analysing everything he said and about where it was going. It was the guys who were conceited and didn't know what they wanted past sex that made me feel cheap and disrespected afterwards - and that’s essentially what it boils down to.

If you walk into a situation with your eyes open your wits about you and the respect for yourself and others you can’t go wrong. I think loneliness can make us grasp onto false idealism's of affection as soon as someone shows you an ounce of interest. What’s the harm in spending a couple months getting to know that guy/girl and then seeing where it goes..seriously how can you get into a relationship with someone you don’t know?! Security comes from within; so why not spend time hanging out, becoming friends. It's OK to share a couple kisses and intimate moments; it could lead to a stronger happy relationship in the future, and IF it doesn't work out, at least you've gained a friend. Even if that doesn't happen, at least you both walk away with mutual respect instead of mutual dislike. This way you learn and lived and love and the world is a happier place, which equals a less jaded London. If more people did this there would be less c-list UK rappers chatting rubbish on twitter about ‘typical gyal’ and ‘why girls are dumb’ and there would be less vengeful girls saying ‘fuck men’...haters of love me thinks!

To all guys and girls... and that potential one out there for me:

I know myself, I love myself, I’m not perfect but I’m getting better at this life game every day. I love my life, my family, friends and my work. And I will have these things before, during and after you. Compliment my life share my smiles, don’t try be all about it and I’ll do the same for you. I hope you hold some of these same values, cos we could build some great memories together.

Chase and Status

OK this is late....but it's only cos as we know I procrastinate just a bit....

I been a fan of these electronic production duo since Love ft Jenna G, their high standard of Launching themselves further into the mainstream with their second album, No More Idols has been on repeat since I bought it on the release date!

Time ft Delilah has hit a personal chord for me and Blind Faith ft Liam Bailey will definitely be a raving track for summer 2011. This album is a banger throughout and was the soundtrack to my recent tattoo session. I love this album...if you're into the sounds of ShyFX or Prodigy then this is for you!!! Dance-able beats with influences and throw backs to Ol'skool Garage, Jungle, 90s Dance, Drum'n'Bass and some new Skool Dubstep this album featuring Plan B, Tinie Tempah, Cee-lo Green and Maverick Sabre who I will be catching at Tomorrows Milly's World Showcase at The Monarch.

5 Gold Elephants :)

NEWS : Behind The Scenes Of FlyBoy E’s New Video One Man Soldier Featuring Little Dee

Written by Tego Sigel on 15 Mar 2011

Last week FlyBoy E shot his video for his latest drop One Man Solider so in true RWD fashion we went behind the scenes to get you the exclusive and talk to the man himself..

Big shouts to director Elmino, Fly Boy E complimented working with him, “Elmino had a good idea and vision of how to get the music to correlate with the visuals effectively Elmino got real creative with some of the shots and angles he used, we had fun whilst shooting the video to One Man Soldier “ Of the song FlyBoy offered “When you listen to the track you will notice it’s a big sound with a lot of energy which grips you from start to finish, so to execute the exhilarating feel of the track, we had to implement a lot of fast movement.”

The video’s plot sees FlyBoy on route to a location, with hype building, like a general calling his troops, the word gets out and others start to gather and meet at the final destination “We tried to implement different scenes of people getting a phone call telling them about the meet up point, for example the cameo shot in the tattoo shop.” FlyBoy continued “We got all the day time shots whilst the sun was still out but when it started getting dark we made our way to the forest where everything got a little more exciting.”

Breaking out the flares for some night shots, FlyBoy knew they had to be careful “During this part of the video shoot we had to be cautious as we were playing with fire literally. We had to light up some sticks and get a couple performance shots with me holding the torch, the same with Little Dee.”

The imagery used in the video is an example of how sophisticated Grime is becoming and the creative mind of Elmino at work. We also caught up with Elmino on set, who was excited about the project “As soon as I heard the track One Man Soldier I knew the video was going to be crazy. The tune is an absolute madness, the beat and the way FlyBoy E and Little Dee delivers on the track is serious. We put our creative minds together and it wasn’t hard thinking of a theme for the video, as inspiration was flying in the air it made things easier. The day of the shoot was smooth, hardly any problems, we more or less managed to capture everything we envisioned resulting to great video shoot and an epic video”.

The Video for FlyBoy E Ft. Little Dee – One Man Soldier premieres on RWDmag.com this Thursday.
