Summers over

The last couple months have sailed by; working at Vans, sleeping, working at Vans, eating, working at Vans, socialising, ended my long relationship Mary and started up my old flame with Jack Daniels...

I ain't had time to write posts every week but this ain't no hype - this is my brain dump spot I suppose and today as the rain hits my window paign i feel like singing

...rain rain go away - fuck off and never come back you cunt!!!!

...but this is England so bring on the autumn winter - cosy nights in front of X-Factor, carbohydrates, new winter wardrobe, wolly hats and university. I officially start my post-graduate in 21 days and counting - yea babeeeeh!

So here's quick snap view of what's good with my world!

At the end of September indians celebrated the festival of Navrati- during which we spend 9 nights and 10 days celebrating/worshipping the 9 days Goddess or nine forms of Shakti/Devi who fought against evil. its fun, you get to dress up in your best and go out, dance - its kinda like line dancing but instead we circle the shrine in the middle of the youth centre/school hall. Me and Jaiyna from my Mistry community went to one in Uxbridge

I wanted these...

but I got these badboys instead...

I'm loving this shorts and gullet combo and will steal this look.....jjjjjj-jacked!

I cant get enough of MGMT

Their soo big and their album Oracular Spectacular has been on constant repeat.

I am an electric woman...but of course - and my electric feel has drawn in new sparks into my life - loving the change of social groups including my new mate Bubzy Jones who has become my new pal to laugh with and swap literature...

I'm currently reading

While also tryna get my head around ideas of metaphysics and more.

I been frequenting the cinema and saw the Gamer with the sexy Gerrad Butler (he was in the film of course - we didnt pop down to the local Vue cinema to watch it together, although that would of been a great story to tell) interesting idea and touches on the ideas of shape shifting and White gold but otherwise poop!

I also saw The Invention of Lying and loved it, laughed all the way through - defo perfect date movie or just something to see on a weeknight with your mum

Rounding off the going's on, my friend Soodi had a Barbie & Ken themed party for her 26th@ Carbon- HAPPY BRITHDAY you old cow!!! : p

and my bestest girl Michellio came down for the weekend - we started the evening looking like this

I was Naughty Tennis Instructor Barbie ;)

and ended with myself and Michelle asking the cabbie to pull over on the way home so we could vomit....hehehehehehehe - I'm Turing into a proper alchi!

This weekend past I visited new bait face club Ghost with Naddy

Ghost was full of pretty white girls who looked like sexy models and metro sexual men who cudnt really move - or make a move - and lots of gully fellas in Zara - I'm not hating - in fact we had fun skanking the night away....

The Low down

Tonight I'm catchin' up on all things tech, this includes my email, downloads, random faff, holiday deals(in case I feel like jettin off), Fassbook, Twitter and of course Zi blog. I've been doing everything from my Berry - so it's nice to be able to see things on a big screen!

I've transformed into all seeing and all doing working gurl...having just worked 6 days straight and I'm tired!

I didn't get the second job I wanted as a receptionist at Wembley Arena - boooo.

..."No harm, no foul"

But in other related positive life movements, I'm taking part in the event management of a retrospective evening dedicated to the career and music of Drum & Bass MC and Jazz Singer Cleveland Watkiss

at the moment I cant stop listening to...

some interesting sounds from Drake's mix tape!

I'm lovin' this video

but I'm not sure if I actually like the song....her hypnotising moves are tryna convince me, but the music don't lie!

On pay day I'm buying:
these cos I've always wanted some

and working at Vans hasn't helped my shoe fetish at all and these Angle Strip Era are hot to death, I want them too!

New drug driving advert is weird....

The lovely Miss Newsy Chick has been keeping me amused on Twitter the last couple days with her voyeuristic - bordering pornographic- ramblings on the skin tight spandex clad Jamaican Runners competing in the world athletics in...fav tweets included:

Watching men's athletics is like soft porn, the spandex and all those muscles mmm...Great Sunday viewing

OMG I'm so excited about this men's final

Ah bring on the mens 200m ......<------really now Newys chick!

but check out those arms, she aint alone in her admiration!

but Usain Bolt did beat his own record, becoming the fastest man completeting the 100min in 9.58 seconds -GO JAMAICA!!!!!

Carnival in a week - soca, sun(lets hope), shacking, food and some trees....but of course!

Busy Little Elephant mode!

I have been working full steam ahead at Vans and the shit don't quit. Sorry for the lack of postings but I have been extremely busy working all the hours under the sun for what I can only describe as minimum wage - but I'm grateful as I have spent the last year doing nothing - well not nothing.
Today is my first day off in 5days and already they got me going in on my day off at 5pm to cover the Thursday late night shopping shift....I'm such a sucker for some extra pay! And this is kinda whats its gunna be like for the rest of the month, working my butt off - Work is fun, small but cute team of stoners (my people) and my assistant manager is a definite sight for sore eyes - MAMA!!!!

I got lots of cool uniform including this cute pair of black/black checkerboard cuties!

My staff discount is beyond amazing at 50% and I've made some new friends around Westfields and got the hook up in some retailers including G-star, Topshop and Diesel.

They say things/good fortune comes in 3's I now have a job but it don't stop there I have an interview for a second....yes second....part time job as an ad hoc receptionist at Wembley Arena....fingers crossed. And yesterday I got the most unexpected text from DJ Abrantee asking me if I could come in and assist on a show he's covering on Saturday night...of course I said yes. It weill be nice to be doing some radio production stuff again.....
I'm so focused right now I haven't had any time for trees or teasing boys!

Can I have your attention please?

My friend Corey was right the other night when he said to me

"a change is coming for you Von Mistry...
...I can feel it. Remember I said that a change is coming"

It's ironic when you think about the tone of my last post the next day whadoyaknow I got a new job!!!!! Finally!!!!!!!

I'm back in retail, on the front line, doing what I do best, serving the public. I'm the new sales assistant at Vans in Westfield's! It's a temporary solution but with some permanent benefits of pay, a new team to work with and a new adventure.....but of course!

To all those who are still looking...keep your chin up and don't give in, there's light at the end of the tunnel!

The odds are against me...thank Gawd for Horoscopes!

If you're like me, one for the 2.3million people in the UK who is unemployed and actively looking for work, I want to take this time to say congratulations for not jumping off a bridge, building , NCP, roof top......something of height! I know it's hard and with odds like 2.3 million against you in a recession, I'm at a loss for advice to give but keep trying and dont give up!
The odds of a job are slim, online job sites and applications cut that slim in half! Where as before 10 people were applying for a job now 50 people are competing online! I can do between 50-80 jobs one-click apps a day through online sites and I might get 3 (if I'm lucky) call-backs in a week and 2 of them will be just to find out a bit more about me - because my CV and cover letter didn't spell it out clearly enough! The Job Centre has job search machines which has helped me find my perfect job in Carlisle...where?? I live in London!!! - but their just puttin you in touch with another recruitmentagent not the actual job. Recruitment agents waste your time, I have 7 - and what have you done for me lately!? And then there's handing out your CV in retail outlets... retail is not in any way demeaning but this was something I thought was behind me after slaving it out in sweat box shops on minimum wage for the best part of my teens! You have to hand out 20 to get at least 2 call backs and that's if your CV makes it past the counter girls....

**Oh Gawd, I just read this back - how depressing - PLEASE DONT KILL YOURSELF!!!!

Today after pacing the whole of Westfields I handed out 20 of my 30 CVs to retail outlets of whom 15 were actually hiring and I got 1 response. An interview and a trial shift at Vans tomorrow....goodluck to me and to those of you with interviews tomorrow including my friend Byron!

Body wrecked and hungry I read this in the paper on the way home and made me smile...I'm a Taurus...but of course!

Boy!!! I hope it's true!
