The Elephants are coming to Town!!! YAY!!!!

Elephants are taking over London - and rightly so I say. Painted baby elephants can be spotted over London this month and next month to highlight the plight Asian Elephant and raise money for these endangered species …I nearly wet my pants when I seen my 1st one in Carnaby Street...

“Each decorated by a different artist or celebrity, the elephants brighten and beautify the city, enhancing every park, street corner and building they grace. Running from May to July 2010, this is London’s biggest outdoor art event on record. With an estimated audience of 25 million, we aim to raise £2 million for the Asian elephant and benefit 20 UK conservation charities.”

I will be taking pictures of my sightings. For more info click

why I love elephants...by Von Mistry

A lot of people ask me Why elephants? Why busy little elephant?!

So I thought I’d explain…I like elephants. Not sure why, always have and always will. What’s your favourite animal? ...mine is elephants

To me elephants are tribal, look after their heard, caring, protective, nurturing, playful, intuitive, big boned (lol), hard/strong on the outside but gentle creatures…and I see the same qualities in myself…simples! And off the back of this, my friends even say: "naughty little elephant" when I'm bad or "you're such a little elephant crashing around" when I'm being clumsy or my favourite "you elephant" when I say something silly funny...Von Mistry and elephants are in the same category ya dig!

How can you not love these beautiful, floppy eared, large, creations of the man upstairs…

hehehe

eeeeewwwwwwww!!!!

yay!

Happy Buffday to ME!!!!!

Today is my birthday

I’m a year older and not much has changed
Still untidy, still uber curvy, still chase young boys and I still live at home with my parents – to add compliment to irony I still look like I’m 22 too!
Hooraaah!

I’m alive; I have my family, friends, health and a positive outlook on life…

Forever Friends

A year ago I was unemployed, depressed, broke, wasting time on crappy men, spending money I didn’t have, crying rivers on a weekly basis and then gorging on copious amounts of weed that I got on tick...can you say evil cycle!!!
During this time I met my friend Nadia who was in a similar predicament...I would sit with Naddy on odd days and drink tea, squallering in our joint state of unemployment and swap war stories of no money for fashion and just being Indian princess's with senile loving fathers who were losing a grip ha!

anyway....Today I stand stronger, wiser, doing an internship for an event company. Nadia also got a job and blog too and we are both hard at it everyday...Now I got a tiny bit of money in my account, banished all men cos I LOVE ME, spending nothing I don’t have, smiling on a daily basis and working hard in the gym...I digress...my point is that good friends are important; new, old and borrowed!

...me and Naddy are still friends, who made it through together…our current situations aren’t perfect but it’s SOOOO much better than what it was - the Job Center que - it's just not cute - and we will accomplish My world domination one day…

APOLOGIES

It's been forever a day and month since I blogged and I will try do better and blog some more from now on....that is all - for now!

It's been awhile, heres some thoughts!

At 26 I felt like I had anti-climaxed in my path in life and went from high to low very quickly…the low lasted too long and fed up of being at the bottom I had to start things up again. It was like I went back in time- handing out CVs in shopping malls - and I almost felt ashamed and then I looked up and saw I wasn’t the only one walking around with an A4 plastic wallet, I sucked it in, looked my best and walked around with a smile reminding myself that money is money and some money was better than sitting in the Job centre reporting to some dude who didn’t care about me and the fact that I was unemployed, he was getting paid still. So there I was trying hard and eventually I got my lucky break and it was all day everyday retail slave labour on minimum wage. Worked my ass off and didn’t have 1 weekend to myself to rest. I decided that if I had spent that long doing nothing and being depressed, that I would spend every minute now working hard and getting myself back on top form.

My post graduate started 4 months later. I decided to go back to school and do an event management training course, since I was starting fresh as my options for more money were limited. I put my head down and attended class everyday and again found I was not alone in my path to success, I get my grade in a couple of weeks - I deserve a distinction... I’ve done some more volunteering and continue to put myself forward for free work, to gain experience, new skills and meet new people who I shake hands with in the hopes that they might be my next big break. Never for get your Ps and Qs, don’t loose your attitude and be polite with everyone because if someone tries to stomp on your day with them bad attitude you wouldn’t like it. I've finished my course and I'm now doing an internship for a venue finding agency - I dont like it much and I'm a gloried skivvy in all honesty, but they are giving me some good expeirence and it's only for three months.

Being unemployed or stuck in a rut can be hard, trust me I KNOW – but these little things add up to the big things and while you’re unemployed/stuck in a rut you cant change others – you can change/better yourself, you got all this time to practise. Hope is around the corner, don’t give up hope!
