Here's what you've missed!

The last 2 weeks of bank holiday freeness, working, drinking, smoking, partying and generally throwing caution to the wind has left me with a few post birthday blues, but before I get that off my chest...

Just wanted to share some beautiful moments of the last 2 weeks with you since I was too consumed to blog.

this soothes me my mind!

Bank Holiday raves are the bestest - Living Proof is always a good shout. Me and running-on-black-people-time-late-but-always-on-time besty had fun

and it was good to see my jojo back in the country also!

These two young lovebirds got hitched, sending out some positive love vibes. I could have been really patriotic and gone into london and watched this but instead I watched form the comfort of a cave...here's the money shot!

Happy Birthday Me!!!
Thanks to everyone who happen to randomly be there to celebrate my birthday and also s/o to @forever_famous for the pics, you can see more of his work and opinions here

more snaps courtesy of everyone else who came and shared my birthday drinks and BBQ

NB: 2 of my favorite people, lee and mich - together we are the 3 dancing monkeys :p

THANKS for everyone who took part in the last 2 weeks and especially to my family especially parents who despite our difference always have my back!

At 28, I spent this last week half working, half progressing but also taking a couple steps back to reflect and generally act like a mad woman and allowing all my inner fears, paranoia and insecurities rise to the surface. But fear not, their firmly out of my system and even though I am slightly ashamed of my actions, my misdirected venting that went sideways...I cant help but be my self and express my self when I do, as I do. I'm not completely evil or anything - just a bit 'bipolar' someone perfectly called it!

Here's to being one year older, wiser, faster, stronger!

Zimbabwe 2010-2011

What is love?

“Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end.” ♥

Congratulations to the newlyweds Mr Mehul & Mrs Aarti Ghandi.

You guys were the reason that I got to come home and spend my holiday season in the glorious sunshine and sleep warm nights under a carpet of stars.

Indians weddings are never a simple thing and that's the very least that could be said about this particular event. Yep, Event - of epic scale. No sooner did I arrive, I was welcomed and checked into my hotel room, bags assigned with a personalised and branded tag and told to have a drink and take my seat on the private shuttle service hired to ferry guests between the hotel and various wedding celebrations planned for the next 7 days.

Being an events coordinator not only was this a great family wedding but as a guest I was given an experience and it was eye opener of what can be achieved abroad when you allow yourself no hold bars when creating the fantasy wedding. Everything about the wedding was beautifully detailed and alot of thought, hard work and effort had gone into the planning and execution of every detail. The theme of the wedding was elephants, which I cant lie slyly jealoused meh - but being the busy little elephant, I was in heaven, so I just shut my trap and enjoyed it - but I did let it be known that I am the elephant queen hahaha!

This was the wedding mundapt or stage upon which the wedding ceremony took place. My uncle designed and had this made to specification.

Welcome to Zimbabwe...

of course me and my sister took this opportunity to flex our style and elegance. Nothing feels better than a Saree looks

She is my Indian princess - love Asha...not we're not twins!

Indian weddings are like movies and I admit that I looked forward to the afternoons sewing flower garlands with a range of my aunties and some new aunties I had never met, who questioned, have you seen any nice boys? when are you getting married? Laughing out loud as they recalled stories of when they got married....it was too cute

The wedding was beautiful and emotional and I think certain heart strings of mine were tugged at because I have a new found respect and admiration for those who are truly happy and find someone to share that with for the rest of their lives. One can only hope...and a bit of optimism definitely helps.

So for 2011 I think it's time I let go of the disbelief a little bit!

Christmas day was spent on a garden terrace of a restaurant sipping Bellini's and cream soda with my family and munching on Pizza, in warm sunshine- perfect and weird all at the same time!

(I took some real snaps using my newly purchased Lomo Action Sampler 35mm, an ebay bargain which typically broke after the first use, so once those are processed...watch this space)

The time spent with my family and especially my cousins was definitely something special, living in each others pockets, sharing breakfast, toasting shots, dancing, talking and laughing till ours sides hurt and remembering the good ol days in Zim when we spent summers getting up to mischief.

2010 was a great year ending in the best way possible, at home, with my family, looking good, feeling fab, 30 degrees everyday and of course dancing

New Years day, 5am-ish, I watched the sunrise over Africa on new years day and was ashtonised by the 100s of people I saw making their way to church. It was very peaceful and something I felt blessed to have witnessed.

The last 4 days were spent touring in this van

I visited Chinoyu caves

and Imerie Safari Lodge, where I bumped into these characters

NOW I really was in Heaven!

So back now in London, glowing from a tan, refreshed from my break, changed from experience and sniffle's from the air conditioning. Time to go in, it's about females making power moves in 2011...LET'S GO!!!!

Lazy Lil Elephant who don't blog so much in 2010...but will in 2011

Happy New Year my lovelies....

Have so many things to blog and so little time, blah , blah, I will do better!

I'm currently blogging from Zimbabwe - where apparently phones don't roam, but they do switch on and occasionally connect to a half decent WiFi!

Why Zimbabwe? Well my little cousin got married to a great guy and we spent a week not sleeping, eating too much, drinking WAY too much, talking, dancing, laughing, more dancing and a little more drinking...I will update you on my return to England - mark my words!

Also yesterday, I saw 6 Elephants while on Safari and I swear to you, they flocked to me like they knew I was one of them...*sigh*...post to follow trust me!

So, before I sign off and go play poker with my cuzzy's on my last night in Zimbabwe - with new inspiration, new year and new excitement and thirst for life, love, money, travel and all things Von Mistry

... I wish you all the best for this year - YOU CAN DO IT!
