Amsterdam

Me and my boobie Liz went to Amsterdam last weekend to see Chase and Status in concert.

After arriving in my home from home city, we took our virgin tram ride to decent 3 star Hotel, checked in and settled into our room and soon received a text from my local friend Karim “On Leidse Straat, I’m there at coffee company” ....this was the beginning of an epic and very LONG day

This is how it went...

• Met the lovely Karim @ Coffee Company and he takes us to party in Vondel Park;
• Vondel park is full – 100s and 100s of cool, funky, sexy, yummy mummies, dishy dads, cool kids, hot girls, sexy guys, punks, emos....You name it, they’re there dressed in fly kicks and shades.
• Half cut, sun kissed and learning some Dutch we take a long walk to go eat some seriously good home cooked Indonesian food
• Walk back to hotel the whole while Karim has been an amazing tour guide to us
• Get back to hotel for an outfit change and a sly disco nap only to realise the doors open at 9 not 10 and the concert is due to start at 10 not 11....despite this we get to Melkweg at 11 and the ticket guy tells us it’s about to start in 2mins – PERFECTO!
• CHASE AND STAUS ROCKED MY WORLD!!!!!
• Back to the hotel for a another outfit change and then hit the streets; bee line for Club Air where there is an MTV party happening and is also the after party for Chase and Status
• Club Air is the shit, after some translation/money/locker issues we are in the mix of the club doing shots and drinking doubles
• OH, WHATS THIS?! My spidey senses lock onto the beat which leads me to a second from where garage, dubstep, dirty beats and house is the flavour.
• I clear the dance floor with my skanks and get so sweaty betty that we take a break in the smoking area – there is not outside area here
• Chilling in stagnate smoke filled room as if from behind the smoke haze immerses a man requesting a cigarette.
• Liz is stuttering, why... it’s only MC Rage of chase and Status who is the nicest person in the world.
• We spent the next hour talking, sharing stories, finding out the world is too small and we know a lot of the same people and get invited to the iTunes festival to watch Chase and Status play.,....i cannot discuss this further for fear of jinxing myself. Shhhhhhhh.....
• Anyway it’s 3 am in Amsterdam I arrived at 12:30 and I still haven’t smoked anything green– on hearing this rage presents me with a bag of weed and says “enjoy” I heart MC Rage....I heart Chase and Status even more now!
• We party for a bit and even talk some business (WATCH THIS SPACE) before Rage disappears and never comes back but we swapped details (but of course) and I get a text to say they had to exit swiftly but look forward to meeting again soon - I thank him for the music and the show!
• I swear my life is like the best teen stoner movie ever!
